Career and College Promise (CCP) Through College of the Albemarle (COA)
Benefits of Taking CCP Courses:
• Enhances the motivation and achievement of high school students
• Readiness skills for success at the next educational level
• Builds credits toward a college certificate, diploma, or associate’s degree at the same time that they are earning high school honors credits (5.0 on a 4.0 scale) for high school graduation thereby accelerating completion of a diploma, associate degree, or four-year degree
• Earn college transfer credits that will transfer seamlessly to any of the 16 universities within the UNC System as well as participating independent colleges and universities.
• Reduced cost for a two- or four-year degree; students save up to $400 per college course in which they receive credit and/or placement, depending on which college they choose to attend at the end of their high school career.

Criteria for Eligibility:
- Must be a Junior or Senior.
- Must be making appropriate progress toward high school graduation.
- Must have an unweighted GPA of 2.8 on high school courses or if a CTE student, has an unweighted GPA of 2.8 or the recommendation of the high school principal or her designee.
- If the GPA is less than 2.8 demonstrate college readiness on an assessment or placement test in English, Reading, and Mathematics.
- Meets all existing COA admissions criteria and all course prerequisite requirements.
- Maintains a 2.0 GPA in college coursework after completing two courses.
Application Procedures and Enrollment Process
1. Turn in your Secondary Education Approval Form.
2. Apply to COA through your CFNC account.
3. Get your student ID # in an email sent by COA.
4. Set up your MyCourses account by going to COA’s Student Portal
6. Let Ms. Harrell know you have completed the process and what course(s) you would like to take.
7. Purchase the appropriate textbook for your course (DO NOT WAIT UNTIL CLASS STARTS)!

- Use your student ID#, birthday, and username (firstname_lastname**) **this will be the last two digits of your COA ID #.
- Once your account is created, log into MyCourses at https://mycourses.albemarle.edu/
6. Let Ms. Harrell know you have completed the process and what course(s) you would like to take.
7. Purchase the appropriate textbook for your course (DO NOT WAIT UNTIL CLASS STARTS)!
